Cool video, little late though
Wait... but the Emmys already happened this year
Thank you for that education.
I'm only person who agreed with the voter's choice than everybody else.
Yet, you didn't give it to "The Americans" so...
Something that this video does not explain is how shows and performers are nominated in their respective categories. Performers: The deicison to be considered a lead or supporting performer is up to the individual and those submitting them, and often depends on which category they feel they're more likely to win in. Shows with ensemble casts, especially comedies, will submit themselves to the supporting category as a way of showing that each performer is equal. "Modern Family" does this. "Friends" started out doing this, but as time when on and certain performers (Jennifer Aniston and Matt LeBlanc) seemingly became more popular, they were submitted in the lead category. Shows: For the majority of the Emmys, the submission process was similar to that of the performers. So a show like "Desperate Housewives", whose material stratled the line between comedy and drama, felt that they were more of a comedy, and submitted themselves in that category. For the 2015 Emmys this all changed. A rule was implemented that a half hour show was automatically considered a comedy, while an hour long show was automatically considered a drama, but those submitting could appeal that rule. A great example of this is "Orange Is The New Black". Prior to this rule, they were nominated in the drama category, but because the show is only half an hour, it has subsequently been nominated in the comedy category.
