  • Up to 100 elephants die every day for their ivory. Elephant calves left without mothers are almost certain to die. In Zimbabwe, orphaned elephants get a second chance with the elephant nursery at the 'Wild is Life' sanctuary. Founded by Roxy Danckwerts in 2014, the nursery helps baby elephants recover from their loss. Roxy and other carers say that pachyderms are just like human children who love affection and games, she's sure they can even smile! RTD’s Aleksandr Avilov travels to Zimbabwe to visit this unique sanctuary to find out more about raising elephants and see the teams first efforts to return some of them to the wild.SUBSCRIBE TO RTD Channel to get documentaries firsthand! http://bit.ly/1MgFbVyFOLLOW USRTD WEBSITE: https://RTD.rt.com/RTD ON TWITTER: http://twitter.com/RT_DOCRTD ON FACEBOOK: http://www.facebook.com/RTDocumentaryRTD ON INSTAGRAM https://www.instagram.com/rtdocumenta...RTD LIVE https://rtd.rt.com/on-air/
