  • One of the perks of using a laptop or desktop, instead of a tablet, is that you can customize your workflow. Utilities make your computer less annoying and customized to you. In this episode of Processor, Dieter demos some of his favorite MacOS utilities. Cheatsheet is another nifty utility. Shows all the keyboard shortcuts available within an open app when you hold down the command key. Deskcover is useful if you have a lot of smaller windows open as it will darken all other applications behind the one you're using to focus easily. Helium is pretty good for watching videos in a front mini window or looking up things as you can adjust the opacity and continue to do work in whatever other applications. There are sooo many really good one-purpose utilities

Better Touch Tool has basically the same functionality as Flexiglass, plus many more features, and it's cheaper. Great info nevertheless.

there is similar app (Window Manager) to Flexiglass called Spectacle, which is free. Also I recommend Flour which allows you to change between fn and f keys based on the app u are using atm.

An app I highly recommend for Mac is Bettertouchtool. It allows you to set up dozens of touchpad gestures as well as keyboard shortcuts. For example you can assign a shortcut or action when you click the top right corner, or when you force touch with two fingers etc it's amazing

BetterTouchTool is THE BEST and it includes SO MUCH MORE THAN FLEXIGLASS. GO TRY IT!!
Moreover it is a indie developer. BEST SOFTWARE for mac, can't live without it.

Flexiglass seems ok but it would be great if macOS and Windows got real Linux style tiling window managers one day.

I actually knew about a lot of these, but there were plenty that I did not! I agree that while the headphone thing is a little "unnecessary", it does make a big difference. Love the video! Thanks for the info!
