When I'm watching something while my whole family is sleeping, so I keep reaching for the remote to turn the volume up or down for a total of 60 times during the entire film.

.... I have been nitpicking this shit for years and getting blank stares.
How does a comedy funny boy manage to make me feel so validated.

Accurate! John Wick is one of those where everyone whispers like grannys asleep. And the effects are so loud it sounds like granny when she's out of creamed corn.

Simple just make the audio earrape and make the quality of the video low, and you have a home movie

I love that jeff asking “what” when his coworker says he finished editing implies that his ears have already been so damaged from making the sound effects insanely loud he can no longer hear correctly

I finally feel some validation for all the times I've been screamed at for "blasting the tv" and had to argue that's the only way I can hear anything

Gotta change it to 2.1 Audio, or get a center channel speaker. You're watching 5.1 mixed audio by default in a lot of cases dialogue is mixed to a center channel. If you don't have one and are watching 5.1 audio on a stereo setup (like most people) you'll have this problem.
