Exclusive: the future of Microsoft with Satya Nadella

  • Published on:  5/7/2018
  • Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella sits down with Dieter Bohn to discuss the future of Windows and what's next for his company. Just because Microsoft isn't making a phone doesn't mean it's not relevant, but it does mean that the company is focusing on new things like AI, cloud computing, and the enterprise. Although I use a Mac, I think Microsoft is doing much more exciting stuff, especially with their hardware. Too bad Windows Phone wasn't a success.

Terrific video Dieter. Thanks as always.
In my opinion, Microsoft is betting more on the future. Remember Satya saying: " I mean supporting actor role in a world that is increasingly digital is a very comfortable position to be in". I hope they can succeed in their hardware ventures- really love the surface book and surface studio.

It's a bit sad but at the same time I kinda like where Microsoft is going. And also they should improve upon things that seem to be working like Windows, the Surface laptops etc..

I still believe Windows Phone is the best phone OS. It was quick, efficient and intuitive. The dev platform was the downfall imo. Xbox will bounce back in the next gen if Phil keeps it up.

Facebook AI going haywire? What are you talking about? Facebook is going haywire, not its AI on its own. AI does not exist in the form you are referring to it Dieter.

Microsoft is nothing like IBM. That's not a very smart statement.

Apple makes incredible machines with arguably the best OS but Windows 10 is a the new life blood of the pro-user community. A large proportion of creatives have shifted from macOS to Windows out of hardware necessity. You can't build a custom computer and install macOS on it (legally) and Apple has been slow to offer an affordable machine that can be configured to meet production demands.

All these comments about Microsoft being near death and irrelevant are amusing. As someone who uses their business-oriented products every day, it couldn't be further from the truth. Their Azure line-up is great and their cooperation with competing services like AWS makes me like them even more - we're an AWS shop. I love SQL Server and the rest of the MS BI stack, luckily renting SQL Server EC2 instances is a breeze.
Also, Windows 10 is beyond mere redemption in my opinion. Not to mention the omnipresence of Excel everywhere.

Exploit people more for their data.
That is their key-point killer future.
And they will hit a wall soon.
