A Wrinkle in Time Contest: Searching for the Next Visionary Filmmaker

  • In celebration of the upcoming release of A WRINKLE IN TIME and its visionary director, Ava DuVernay, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and Nissan North America have launched a nationwide search for the next visionary filmmaker! During this challenge, Disney is seeking to inspire innovative filmmakers – especially female filmmakers - to step up and share their unique storytelling voice. One lucky winner will be awarded $100,000 to create their own film, a trip to Hollywood for the World Premiere of A Wrinkle in Time, and an all-new 2018 Nissan LEAF!     i think you should go for it... she was just encouraging women to try because the door is often closed to us and she wanted to be clear tat it would not be the case. i honestly believe they will choose the best PERSON who has a story to tell... go for it!

    Well unless the entries are viewed on their own merit, without knowing the filmmaker’s name or gender, so there would be no bias in the judging and selection process, I feel there wouldn’t even be a reason for an aspiring male director to try.
