But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his. The all-star cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Billy Eichner as Timon. Utilizing pioneering filmmaking techniques to bring treasured characters to life in a whole new way, Disney’s “The Lion King” roars into theaters on July 19, 2019.

You know what the original was missing? Expressionless and un-relatable hyper-realistic animals.

  • TheBasaltHorogium (14 hours ago)

+Naveen Sha The original one was very expressive. It actually showed emotion and heart from the characters and the people who were making them. From the lighting, color palettes, animation style, and the overall aesthetic of the movie. Making it all realistic and CGI just takes away all that as you can see from the trailer. Nothing new or creative from the story and the look, it just aims to retell a story that's already been told (much more better) in a realistic version.

Scar doesn’t look scary enough to me 😐

  • KaypainBeats (7 hours ago)

+Illusoisthebestjojovillain because one is a fucking a cartoon and the other is CGI depicting realistic lions. Now if you want to dismiss the idea of realistic lions then do that and dont watch the shit. But quit bitching because he doesn't look his cartoon counterpart.

And I'm sure if the Scar were to show up in your bedroom you wouldnt scream your soul out
