    @krystinfinity Scottish English deep fat frying pertained to everything and anything. This was a European dish with the spices coming from northern Africa and India. Lard or beef fat was cheap and for the poor in England Scotland Ireland and Gibraltar. Service men stationed in Gibraltar and north Africa in fact were feed their rations in cases where food needed to be preserved fried at high heat to stear away disentary. How it got here is obvious English occupied colonies used the cheap cooking method ...
