When they find out you need sunscreen. Corey Rodrigues

Cause I'm made out of MEAT!!! That's why!!

  • Virginia Walter (Nov 16, 2018)

My kids loved that line - now whenever I tell them it's time for sunscreen they say, "I'm made of MEAT!" haha. It's kind of funny to hear that from a 2-year-olds mouth.

Honestly there are so many black and South Asian people that feel offended by the idea that they need sunscreen. I've taught teenagers that weren't aware that they need it.

  • Vanessa R (Feb 4, 2019)

I don't agree. We're African, and it's very common to see people here using sunscreen and walking around with umbrellas. We protect our skin, because the African sun is no joke.

  • amethyst0285 (Jan 30, 2019)

Offended? Do you know what that means?

  • 1stAmbientGrl (Sep 15, 2018)

Umm... confession... I was actually taught in public school science class that dark-skinned people don't need sunscreen because they have more melanin. True story. Yes, the teacher was white.

Bonnie A 20 minutes of sun isn't enough for everyone to get enough vitamin D. I'm quite white and I live in my car in Florida and still manage to be deficient in vitamin D. I have a tan, so I know I'm getting sun even though I try to stick to the shade as much as possible.

We don't get sun burn but we can still get skin cancer so.

  • Yanna Robinson (Sep 15, 2018)

Everyone needs sunscreen skin cancer doesn’t discriminate, even if you don’t burn easily

  • Jemma J (Jan 4, 2019)

Skin cancer does discriminate, the likelihood of SC on black skin is far less than white skin.

  • VZ_ 342 (Jan 2, 2019)

Philip J. Hill no, they weren’t “dead by 35”...the alleged short life spans of the past is due to high infant mortality. In some areas (notably Africa) there is also a very high rate of disease and war, and this also contributes to the despairingly low life span of Negroes in Africa (note I’m not talking about any single country, but rather the continent as a whole, specifically the areas where Negroes (not Arabs) live).

  • Over It (Sep 18, 2018)

I worked with a black guy that didn't think he needed sunscreen. He said "Black people don't burn. We just peel." I had to explain why they peel.

  • Spiceybooger Spiceybooger (Jan 26, 2019)

I haven't found one yet that didn't make me look like a ghost. Or made me sweat. I don't peel because of the sun my skin is dry in the winter and oily as hell in the summertime...still searching for the perfect sunscreen or sunblock whichever one will do the job.

  • LaDeidre Anderson (Nov 12, 2018)

Get Out was a representation not a made up fantasy smh

  • Sharon M (Sep 15, 2018)

Honestly, I’m dark skinned and for years I didn’t even know we needed sunscreen until I burned a few times.

  • Citrus Blast (Feb 1, 2019)

Its funny too considering black people lotion alot, and white men hardly do Lol

  • Dachdog (Jan 20, 2019)

  • SuperTiffyLynne (Sep 17, 2018)

I am a very pale red head. Years ago I had my children and the children of 2 of my cousins at pool at my house. I lined all the kids up and covered them in sun screen. Most of them were ghostly white but one of my cousin's son is of mixed race. My cousin came over and saw us all in the pool and started laughing. Eventually she asked me how much lotion I put on her baby. I said I used plenty don't worry. Then it occurred to me, maybe he didn't need sunscreen. So I asked her. Her response was cl...

"Walking matchsticks" 😂😂 that's so cute

  • Thomas Hughes (Sep 14, 2018)

A very dark skinned camp counselor at a predominantly white camp complained of sunburn. We white suburban children thought he was joking until he pulled up his sleeve and showed us his "farmer's tan". This was before the days of SPF labels when moisturizing was about the best we could do. It was a bonding experience to understand that he was in just as much discomfort as we were.
